An Homage To America's Open Road

This story forms part of the soul of the Motor City, whose innovations drove America west to the roads Kesselheim describes.  The "open road" is an enduring symbol of America and was forged in Detroit, the progenitor of the automobile, the site of the first paved roadway (Woodward between 6 and 7 Mile in 1909), and the first urban depressed freeway (Davison Highway in 1942).

Classical guitarist Stuart Weber and writer Alan Kesselheim came together to produce this original work that describes Kesselheim's first journey away from home and his love of the road.
